Abstractor

Reports to: Production Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Production

Division: Midwest


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process search orders for deeds, mortgages, easements, judgments, tax assessments, etc. related to search property

  • Process search orders using online abstracting sites (Landshark, Tapestry, other online county portals)

  • Search Names for liens on county, state and federal websites

  • Locate property information, tax records, and plat maps

  • Complete property updates (tract checks) daily

  • Pull documents as needed per request


Education & Experience

  • A High School Diploma or GED required

  • 1-2 years experience abstracting documents at various Counties


  • Must be proficient in MS Office, Internet Explorer and Web navigation

  • Ability to work independently and contribute in every aspect to a team environment

  • Knowledge of SoftPro Select is preferred

  • Must be an independent thinker and able to problem solve effectively on a frequent basis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

  • Able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously

  • Ability to build rapport with County personnel (interpersonal skills)

  • Maintaining a high performance metric and accuracy level
